Text of the ceremonies of profession and the taking of the veil for the Institut des Benedictines de l'Adoration Perpetuelle, founded in Paris in 1653 by Catherine de Bar, Mother Mechtilde du Saint-Sacrement, as a monastery of the order of St. Benoit; includes prayers, responses, music, and instructions.

Title vignette; head- and tail-pieces; ornamental woodcut initials; roman and italic types.

Music arranged on 4-lines staves in square and diamond-head notation, with words in Latin.

Contemporary dark brown leather, with blind-ruled center panel on both covers and blind-stamped corner fleurons.

Bookplate of Rev. Herbert W. Birch, with his name crossed out, and owner inscription added of Peter B.G. Binnall, dated Dec. 16, 1929.

Ms. addition to t.p.: "à l'usage de Sr. Ste. Reine."

Laid in: 1 ms. leaf of verse on blue paper, with caption: "Ripon Cath[edra]l . N. Wall"; probably an inscription copied from the north wall of Ripon Cathedral, dated July 1904.
